Boards are made to be trusted, and the Broncos shredded theirs for Tommy Mellott. He came off 88 spots early, and the room will hear about it. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.

They banked enough surplus on Stutsman to cover a lot of smaller sins. Leaving interior defensive lineman unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

Job largely done: linebacker settled and 6 of 8 of the wish list covered. Trading back for volume was the quiet throughline of their weekend.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
