Draft Grade — Bills
Overall D
ValueB NeedB TradesF FutureB-
The Bills won the night they stopped Gore Jr. from sliding. Grade: D.

The Bills lost the trade war and it was not close, handing partners the better end again and again.

That interior defensive lineman hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. If one pick saves this weekend, it is Gore Jr.. Linebacker is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

It is a steep hill from here, and the grade knows it.

Pick Analysis
Pick13 Rnd1 Rome Odunze
In pick No. 13 they get a true top target. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick36 Rnd2 Cooper DeJean
Cooper DeJean slipping to Round 2, Pick 4 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick42 Rnd2 Adonai Mitchell
They read the board right and Adonai Mitchell was the payoff at No. 42. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick128 Rnd4 Beau Brade
Beau Brade in pick 128 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick160 Rnd5 Tommy Eichenberg
Tommy Eichenberg at the Round 5 slot is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick163 Rnd5 Mason McCormick
They let Mason McCormick come to them and pounced at the 163rd overall pick. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick189 Rnd6 Jordan Travis
A tidy bit of business in Round 6, Pick 14, where Jordan Travis graded well above the range. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick223 Rnd7 Tanner McLachlan
Tanner McLachlan at pick 223 is money in the bank, a tight end taken below his worth. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick247 Rnd7 Frank Gore Jr.
Frank Gore Jr. in the Round 7 slot is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It fills a real need, too.
