The Broncos spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Josh Newton, the No. 121 name on the board, in pick 147.

The Smith reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. They squeezed a little extra out of every move they made.

Linebacker was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.

Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
