The steal of the weekend belongs to the Broncos and Barron: B. When a board-topper like Jahdae Barron slides to the 85th overall pick, you do not overthink it, and the Broncos did not. It does the job without flash, and the B reflects it.
The Broncos indulged a want in Barron while a need in linebacker, interior defensive lineman and other spots stayed open. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped linebacker, which is a strange place to end up. Running back was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick Analysis
Pick20
Rnd1
Travis Hunter
In the Round 1 slot they get an island corner at a price that makes it sweeter.
Pick51
Rnd2
Ashton Jeanty
A top-tier running back at a bargain, Ashton Jeanty in pick No. 51, plain and simple. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick85
Rnd3
Jahdae Barron
The needs board was loud and they turned it down, spending Round 3, Pick 21 on Jahdae Barron with linebacker, interior defensive lineman and other spots unsolved.
