The Patriots left with their quarterback, and a B- to match.

The Patriots spent the pick that matters most on J.J. McCarthy, and a roster that has been waiting on a passer can start to take shape. The bottom line is a respectable B-.

Reaching for Tagovailoa left real value on the table behind him. They handed away value on the phones that the picks cannot earn back. On value alone, Mahogany makes the weekend a net positive.

For all the activity, interior defensive lineman went untouched, which is hard to explain.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but interior defensive lineman.
