Sanders should have been long gone. The Patriots pounced, and earned a A-. The Patriots did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and T.J. Sanders fell into the 222nd overall pick. A near-flawless weekend of work, and a A- to cap it.
The phones were where this weekend was really won. The Patriots indulged a want in Barron while a need in safety, quarterback and other spots stayed open. They punted on safety, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
Adding Denzel Ward by trade rounds out the weekend beyond the rookies.
Bottom line, with Ashton Jeanty leading the way, this is a class that should pay off fast and rarely be regretted.
