If you want a masterclass in dealing, watch the Patriots, who turned every swap into a profit this weekend. Add it all up and it grades out a clean A-.

Edwards at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. Every board in the league had Williams lower, and that gap is the story. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up.

In the end it comes back to Matthew Golden, and a haul good enough to build on right away.
