Draft Grade — Patriots
Overall D+
ValueA+ NeedB TradesF FutureB+
Best value of the weekend goes to the Patriots for Sadiq: D+.

The rest of the league will want that one back. Kenyon Sadiq tumbling to the Patriots in the 194th overall pick is a gift they did not have to think twice about.

They handed away value on the phones that the picks cannot earn back. Leaving interior defensive lineman unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

The hoard sets up next April more than it helps this September. Value over need was the throughline, for better and worse.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and interior defensive lineman is still a hole.

Pick Analysis
Pick30 Rnd1 Arvell Reese
A tidy bit of business in the 30th overall pick, where Arvell Reese graded well above the range. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick62 Rnd2 Spencer Fano
They barely believed it either: Spencer Fano still on the board at pick 62. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick94 Rnd3 Jordyn Tyson
Jordyn Tyson at the 94th pick is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick125 Rnd4 Jermod McCoy
A top-tier cornerback at a bargain, Jermod McCoy in Round 4, Pick 25, plain and simple. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick130 Rnd4 LT Overton
LT Overton in pick No. 130 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick170 Rnd5 Michael Taaffe
You do not let a safety like Michael Taaffe reach No. 170 and blink. They did not. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick194 Rnd6 Kenyon Sadiq
Kenyon Sadiq in the Round 6 slot is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick197 Rnd6 Jake Slaughter
Jake Slaughter at slot 197 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. The roster fit checks out.
Pick200 Rnd6 Jonah Coleman
Circle this one: Jonah Coleman at pick 200 is a fall that decides a draft. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
