The Patriots did the meat-and-potatoes work well: B-.

It is the swing that defines the weekend: George Gumbs Jr. in No. 209, a good 63 spots before the room expected him. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.

That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The McNeil-Warren value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere.

Job largely done: edge rusher settled and 6 of 8 of the wish list covered. Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
