The Patriots did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Mason McCormick fell into No. 193. The board rewarded a patient, disciplined weekend with a A.

They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. The Patriots clearly valued win-now help, adding bodies who have done it before.

Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

In the end it comes back to Rome Odunze, and a haul good enough to build on right away.
