The Patriots did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Colton Hood fell into the Round 7 slot. The board pushed back all weekend, and the D+ is the result.

They handed away value on the phones that the picks cannot earn back. The McCoy pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with quarterback and running back still on the board.

Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. It is a win-now wager, and the future is the stake.

A rough weekend that leaves the roster with more questions than answers.
