Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Patriots were there to profit. Spencer Fano, the No. 14 name on the board, should have been long gone before the 130th overall pick. The good and the questionable cancel out to a C.

The trade table is where this weekend went wrong. The McCoy pick reads as want over need, and the roster will feel it at quarterback. That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.

In the end, a coin-flip class: fine today, with a wide range of outcomes ahead.
