Warren1 DRAFTING FOR THEChargers

Draft Grade — Chargers
Overall
B
ValueB
NeedB+
TradesB-
FutureB-
A sensible, unshowy class lands the Chargers a B. They will call it conviction in the building and a reach everywhere else: Jaeden Roberts, 31 picks early at pick 86.
That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Thieneman falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch.
They left with interior defensive lineman solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick Analysis
Pick22
Rnd1
Kayden McDonald
No edge and no loss on Kayden McDonald in the 22nd overall pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick55
Rnd2
Dillon Thieneman
They barely believed it either: Dillon Thieneman still on the board at the 55th pick. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick86
Rnd3
Jaeden Roberts
Jaeden Roberts at the Round 3 slot is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick123
Rnd4
Bryce Lance
Bryce Lance at No. 123 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick202
Rnd6
Nate Boerkircher
Nate Boerkircher at pick No. 202 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
