If confidence were a draft strategy, the Bears would have aced it. Gabe Jacas at the Round 2 slot is 40 spots clear of where he belonged.

The Dixon pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped interior defensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
