After circling the position for what felt like forever, the Patriots committed. Drake Maye is the quarterback now, and the roster gets built to his timeline.

The Simpson pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged. The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

Every board in the league had Legette lower, and that gap is the story. Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
