Draft Grade — Patriots
Overall

The Patriots robbed the room for Keegan. Final grade: B. Call it larceny. Trevor Keegan sat on the board until Round 7, Pick 9, and the Patriots did not need to be asked twice. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.
Reaching for Edwards left real value on the table behind him. They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast.
That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick Analysis
Pick15
Rnd1
Marvin Harrison Jr.
In pick No. 15 they get a difference-maker at receiver, and a steal at that. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick17
Rnd1
Brock Bowers
In the Round 1 slot they get a red-zone target to build around at a price that makes it sweeter. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick21
Rnd1
JC Latham
In slot 21 they get a long-term starter on the line at fair value. A real need, handled.
Pick34
Rnd2
J.J. McCarthy
A reach on J.J. McCarthy in the 34th pick; the board had better options right there. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick35
Rnd2
Ja'Tavion Sanders
Ja'Tavion Sanders in pick 35 is fair value, right on his grade. The roster fit checks out.
Pick64
Rnd2
Ladd McConkey
The board fumbled Ladd McConkey all the way to Round 2, Pick 32, and they scooped it up. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick68
Rnd3
Kiran Amegadjie
A clean, defensible pick in No. 68 with a little surplus value in Kiran Amegadjie. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick104
Rnd4
Calen Bullock
You do not let a safety like Calen Bullock reach the 104th overall pick and blink. They did not. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick118
Rnd4
Andru Phillips
They paid sticker price for Andru Phillips in the 118th pick, and that is fine. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick182
Rnd6
Daijun Edwards
Daijun Edwards in Round 6, Pick 7 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick229
Rnd7
Trevor Keegan
Trevor Keegan in pick 229 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It fills a real need, too.
