Overall B
ValueB NeedA- TradesB- FutureB-
Nothing loud, just a tidy B for the Patriots.

The Patriots' one glaring miss is safety, a need they left exactly as they found it. It does the job without flash, and the B reflects it.

Every board in the league had Baron lower, and that gap is the story. That is an offensive lineman worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly.

Edge rusher was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.

Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.

Pick Analysis
Pick4 Rnd1 Abdul Carter
In pick 4 they get a premier pass rusher. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick38 Rnd2 Jalon Walker
Value with a capital V on Jalon Walker in the Round 2 slot, a genuine coup. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick69 Rnd3 Tre Harris
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Tre Harris at the 69th pick is the proof. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick77 Rnd3 Deone Walker
They paid up for Deone Walker at pick No. 77 when waiting would have done the job. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick106 Rnd4 Charles Grant
Charles Grant at Round 4, Pick 4 is money in the bank, a offensive lineman taken below his worth. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick144 Rnd5 Tyler Baron
They paid a round early for Tyler Baron in slot 144, more than the board wanted. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
