If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through interior defensive lineman. It is not that Williams is a bad player; it is that the Patriots had louder needs to answer first. Reaching for Milton III left real value on the table behind him.

In the end it comes back to Brian Thomas Jr., and a haul good enough to build on right away.
