The Patriots put a flag in the ground for Kamran James, 65 picks before anyone else would have, and the value took the hit.

That is a cornerback worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. That interior defensive lineman hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
