Jonny99 DRAFTING FOR THESeahawks
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall

ValueB

TradesB-
FutureB-
A solid, sensible weekend for the Seahawks: B. There is a lot to like until you notice edge rusher is still a hole. The Seahawks never got to the one that mattered most.
They are betting Webb proves the room right and everyone else wrong. They banked enough surplus on Jeanty to cover a lot of smaller sins.
Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick18
Rnd1
Ashton Jeanty
In the 18th overall pick they get a workhorse for the backfield, outstanding value to boot. A real need, handled.
Pick50
Rnd2
Harold Fannin Jr.
Harold Fannin Jr. at the Round 2 slot is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick52
Rnd2
Marcus Mbow
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Marcus Mbow. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick82
Rnd3
Barrett Carter
Barrett Carter at No. 82 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick92
Rnd3
Deone Walker
Fair-plus on Deone Walker, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick137
Rnd4
Dillon Gabriel
Nice patience on Dillon Gabriel, who had no business lasting to Round 4, Pick 35. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick172
Rnd5
Clay Webb
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Clay Webb well ahead of where he belonged. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick175
Rnd5
Jake Briningstool
Nothing to complain about; Jake Briningstool went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick223
Rnd7
Craig Woodson
Craig Woodson in the 223rd pick lands just on the right side of the ledger. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick234
Rnd7
Mac McWilliams
Mac McWilliams in slot 234 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
