Jonny99 DRAFTING FOR THECommanders
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Commanders
Overall
B-
ValueB-
NeedB
TradesB-
FutureB-
Emmanwori should have been long gone. The Commanders pounced, and earned a B-. When a board-topper like Nick Emmanwori slides to the 61st pick, you do not overthink it, and the Commanders did not.
The Vann pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. A whole weekend of picks and wide receiver is somehow still a want.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick Analysis
Pick29
Rnd1
Landon Jackson
In No. 29 they get juice off the edge, though they paid up to get him. A real need, handled.
Pick61
Rnd2
Nick Emmanwori
A top-tier safety at a bargain, Nick Emmanwori in Round 2, Pick 29, plain and simple. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick128
Rnd4
Nohl Williams
Nohl Williams in slot 128 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick205
Rnd6
Caleb Rogers
Caleb Rogers at the 205th overall pick is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick245
Rnd7
Davin Vann
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Davin Vann. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
