Draft Grade — Patriots
Overall A-
ValueB- NeedB TradesA+ FutureA
The Patriots fleeced the room on the phones and earned a A-.

Whoever sat across the table from the Patriots should ask for a receipt. They cleaned the room out, prying loose far more value than they gave up, and it was the quiet MVP of their weekend. They executed a plan and it shows in the A-.

They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it. However the rest shakes out, Harris at that price is a win they earned. The Patriots paired the rookies with proven help, Adonai Mitchell leading the way.

Bottom line, they did the job about as well as it can be done.

Pick Analysis
Pick14 Rnd1 Tyler Warren
Tyler Warren at pick 14 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick38 Rnd2 Tyler Booker
Tyler Booker in the Round 2 slot is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick69 Rnd3 Cameron Williams
No edge and no loss on Cameron Williams in pick No. 69; it is a wash and a sensible one. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick76 Rnd3 Jack Bech
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Jack Bech at the 76th overall pick. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick77 Rnd3 Carson Schwesinger
Carson Schwesinger in the 77th pick is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick144 Rnd5 Malachi Moore
They took Malachi Moore at par in Round 5, Pick 6, which is nothing to complain about. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick171 Rnd5 Jaydon Blue
Jaydon Blue at slot 171 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick189 Rnd6 JJ Pegues
By-the-book stuff, JJ Pegues at No. 189 squarely in line with his ranking. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick220 Rnd7 Ricky White III
Ricky White III in slot 220 is fair value, right on his grade. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick238 Rnd7 Dante Trader Jr.
A market-rate safety, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Dante Trader Jr.. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick247 Rnd7 Jermari Harris
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Jermari Harris in the Round 7 slot. A minor need, but a need all the same.
