After circling the position for what felt like forever, the Patriots committed. Drake Maye is the quarterback now, and the roster gets built to his timeline. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.

That is an offensive lineman worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. McLachlan has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.
