Draft Grade — Patriots
Overall

FutureB-
The Patriots kept it disciplined and banked a B. The Patriots did not so much draft Dominic Zvada as overpay for him, 66 picks clear of his grade. It sets an uneasy tone for the weekend. The bottom line is a respectable B.
They banked enough surplus on Bowry to cover a lot of smaller sins. Leaving interior defensive lineman unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but interior defensive lineman.
Pick Analysis
Pick14
Rnd1
Keldric Faulk
In the 14th overall pick they get juice off the edge at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick46
Rnd2
Malik Muhammad
They paid sticker price for Malik Muhammad in pick 46, and that is fine. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick78
Rnd3
Ja'Kobi Lane
They did well to land Ja'Kobi Lane in pick No. 78, just ahead of his grade. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick128
Rnd4
Jude Bowry
Jude Bowry at the 128th pick is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick153
Rnd5
Justice Haynes
Steal is underselling it; Justice Haynes at slot 153 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick192
Rnd6
Dominic Zvada
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Dominic Zvada well ahead of where he belonged. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
Pick215
Rnd6
Trey Moore
Trey Moore at the Round 6 slot is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick227
Rnd7
Elliot Washington II
They paid a round early for Elliot Washington II in the 227th pick, more than the board wanted. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
