Grand theft in the Round 3 slot: the Patriots steal Leavitt and grade out a D.

The phones were a trap the Patriots kept walking into, shipping out surplus on nearly every deal. The process wobbled, and the D is where it lands.

Landing Leavitt that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. They will regret leaving interior defensive lineman for another day if the season turns on it. They will need Washington II to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, interior defensive lineman very much included.
