Draft Grade — Patriots
Overall B+
ValueB NeedB TradesA+ FutureB-
The steal of the weekend belongs to the Patriots and Viliamu-Asa: B+.

Whoever sat across the table from the Patriots should ask for a receipt. They cleaned the room out, prying loose far more value than they gave up, and it was the quiet MVP of their weekend. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B+.

Viliamu-Asa falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up. If Finley pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.

Pick Analysis
Pick24 Rnd1 A.J. Holmes Jr.
In slot 24 they get a wrecking ball inside. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick39 Rnd2 Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa
You do not let a linebacker like Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa reach No. 39 and blink. They did not. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick88 Rnd3 Reed Harris
A reach for Reed Harris in pick 88; a little patience would have been rewarded. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick122 Rnd4 Kingston Lopa
Kingston Lopa at Round 4, Pick 20 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick160 Rnd5 Drake Lindsey
They did well to land Drake Lindsey in the 160th pick, just ahead of his grade. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick186 Rnd6 Elijah Paige
Value with a capital V on Elijah Paige in pick No. 186, a genuine coup. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick210 Rnd6 Eli Finley
A conviction pick on Eli Finley at pick 210 that the board grades a round light. The roster fit checks out.
Pick251 Rnd7 Christian Alliegro
They took Christian Alliegro at par in Round 7, Pick 30, which is nothing to complain about. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
Pick257 Rnd7 Xavier Chaplin
They paid up for Xavier Chaplin at pick No. 257 when waiting would have done the job. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
