The real work happened on the phones. The Patriots fleeced their trade partners, turning their picks into a noticeably bigger pile than they started with. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B+.

They banked enough surplus on Lane to cover a lot of smaller sins. For all the activity, interior defensive lineman went untouched, which is hard to explain.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but interior defensive lineman.
