The phones sank the Patriots this weekend: D+.

The Patriots went off the board in a big way for Dante Dowdell, 38 picks early. Conviction is one thing; this is another. The board pushed back all weekend, and the D+ is the result.

They handed away value on the phones that the picks cannot earn back. They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it.

Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Reese. On the needs board they went 6 of 8, with wide receiver the one that mattered most.

In the end, a class the front office will want to grow past quickly.
