A costly weekend of dealing drags the Patriots to a D+.

Somewhere a scout is still blinking. The Patriots spent the 250th pick on Solomon Tuliaupupu, a name the board had a full 61 spots lower. Too much went sideways, and the D+ is the honest tally.

The trade table is where this weekend went wrong. The Johnson pick reads as want over need, and the roster will feel it at running back and tight end. That running back hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.

That Abney II pick is the receipt they will wave around later.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, running back very much included.
