You could see the war room lean forward. Colston Loveland at Round 2, Pick 17 is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did.

For all the activity, interior defensive lineman went untouched, which is hard to explain. Every board in the league had Jones Jr. lower, and that gap is the story.

The dealing tilted against them, just enough to notice.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
