The Patriots let Grant fall into their laps, and walked away with a C.

Call it larceny. Kenneth Grant sat on the board until the Round 3 slot, and the Patriots did not need to be asked twice. It nets out a thoroughly average C.

The trade table is where this weekend went wrong. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up. Every board in the league had Thomas lower, and that gap is the story.

The Higgins pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with edge rusher, quarterback and other spots still on the board.

It nets out as a middle-of-the-pack haul that neither helps nor hurts much.
