The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Patriots watched Ryan Fitzgerald slide 107 picks past his grade and did not hesitate.

They are betting Thornton Jr. proves the room right and everyone else wrong. The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend. The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

Stockpiling next year's capital is patient, if unglamorous, asset work.
