Grand theft in pick No. 98: the Patriots steal Gabriel and grade out a C.

This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Dillon Gabriel, the No. 52 name on the board, stolen at No. 98. It washes out to a C, no better and no worse.

They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down. Spending an early pick on linebacker with wide receiver, interior defensive lineman and other spots open is the decision the grade keeps circling back to. Reaching for Igbinosun left real value on the table behind him.

For all the activity, wide receiver went untouched, which is hard to explain.

The verdict is a shrug for now, with the swing picks left to write the real ending.
