Warren should have been long gone. The Patriots pounced, and earned a A-.

Whoever sat across the table from the Patriots should ask for a receipt. They cleaned the room out, prying loose far more value than they gave up, and it was the quiet MVP of their weekend. Add it all up and it grades out a clean A-.

Landing Warren that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. Reaching for Revel Jr. left real value on the table behind him.

The imported veterans give this class a floor the draft picks could not on their own.

A strong weekend's work, and a rare one to find this little fault with.

In the Round 1 slot they get a quarterback's worst nightmare, outstanding value to boot. The biggest hole, addressed.

Tyler Booker in the 33rd pick is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.

Shavon Revel Jr. at pick No. 36 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.

Jonah Savaiinaea at pick 52 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the offensive lineman. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.

Kaleb Johnson at No. 67 is money in the bank, a running back taken below his worth. A need, and now a little less of one.

By-the-book stuff, Deontae Lawson at the Round 3 slot squarely in line with his ranking. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.

Quietly one of the better values of the day, Kevin Winston Jr. at Round 3, Pick 29. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.

Danny Stutsman at the 103rd overall pick is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.

Circle this one: Tyler Warren at the 123rd pick is a fall that decides a draft. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.

Jordan Hancock slid further than he should have, and slot 139 is lovely value for the cornerback. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.

Jack Bech at pick 140 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
