You build a draft on nights like this. DJ James had no business being available in the Round 4 slot, and the Patriots did the only sane thing and turned in the card. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B-.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped safety, which is a strange place to end up. The trades cost them a sliver of value they did not need to spend.

Every board in the league had Mitchell lower, and that gap is the story. Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.

Good work on the whole, with safety the one box left unchecked.
