Hampton should have been long gone. The Patriots pounced, and earned a D-.

You can lose a draft before you make a pick. The Patriots did it at the trade table, overpaying to chase players the board did not price nearly as high.

The interior defensive lineman hole is the one line item this class does not answer. On value alone, Hampton makes the weekend a net positive.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and interior defensive lineman is still a hole.
