A costly weekend of dealing drags the Patriots to a D-.

The phones were a trap the Patriots kept walking into, shipping out surplus on nearly every deal.

They are betting Echols proves the room right and everyone else wrong. The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer. The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes.

Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and edge rusher is still a hole.
