The Patriots did not so much draft Tonka Hemingway as overpay for him, 34 picks clear of his grade. It sets an uneasy tone for the weekend. It holds up to a second look, which is why it earns the A-.

They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

Milum at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster.

Bottom line, they left the weekend a clearly better team, and they earned every bit of it.
