The search is over. The Patriots handed the keys to Drake Maye, and the whole operation now runs on his development. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B.

That is a cornerback worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. They will need Leveston to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.

They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. A modest surplus at the table, banked quietly.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.
