Draft Grade — Titans
Overall A-
ValueB NeedB TradesA+ FutureB+
Quarterback settled, Ward in the fold, and a A- for the Titans.

When a board-topper like Cam Skattebo slides to slot 234, you do not overthink it, and the Titans did not. The board rewarded a patient, disciplined weekend with a A-.

Cam Ward gives the offense a face and a plan, and the grade leans heavily on whether he hits. Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck.

They will need Campbell to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up.

In the end it comes back to Cam Ward, and a haul good enough to build on right away.

Pick Analysis
Pick4 Rnd1 Cam Ward
In the 4th overall pick they get the face of the franchise at fair value. A real need, handled.
Pick35 Rnd2 Emeka Egbuka
Nice patience on Emeka Egbuka, who had no business lasting to the 35th pick. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick118 Rnd4 Quinshon Judkins
The board fumbled Quinshon Judkins all the way to the 118th overall pick, and they scooped it up. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick123 Rnd4 Kaleb Johnson
A running back of that caliber at the 123rd pick is the definition of value, full stop. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick134 Rnd4 Gunnar Helm
They will replay Gunnar Helm at pick 134 for years; that is how good the value is. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick140 Rnd5 Jake Majors
You do not let an offensive lineman like Jake Majors reach Round 5, Pick 3 and blink. They did not. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick143 Rnd5 Jaeden Roberts
Jaeden Roberts at slot 143 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick171 Rnd5 DJ Campbell
DJ Campbell at pick No. 171 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick234 Rnd7 Cam Skattebo
They robbed the room for Cam Skattebo here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick239 Rnd7 Jack Kiser
Jack Kiser in No. 239 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
