Draft Grade — Panthers
Overall A-
ValueB NeedB+ TradesA+ FutureA+
The Panthers won the night they stopped Manning from sliding. Grade: A-.

You could see the war room lean forward. Arch Manning at No. 70 is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did. The sum of the weekend is a deserved A-.

They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast. They are betting Zuhn III proves the room right and everyone else wrong.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped cornerback, which is a strange place to end up. Adding Jauan Jennings by trade rounds out the weekend beyond the rookies.

Trust the process, because this time the process plainly worked.

Pick Analysis
Pick25 Rnd1 CJ Allen
In No. 25 they get a coverage-and-run second-level piece, even if it was a touch early. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick38 Rnd2 Dillon Thieneman
Dillon Thieneman in pick 38 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick42 Rnd2 Jake Slaughter
Circle this one: Jake Slaughter at pick No. 42 is a fall that decides a draft. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick70 Rnd3 Arch Manning
They barely believed it either: Arch Manning still on the board at the Round 3 slot. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick89 Rnd3 Caleb Tiernan
Caleb Tiernan in the 89th pick is fair value, right on his grade. It fills a real need, too.
Pick106 Rnd4 Bryce Lance
Nothing to complain about; Bryce Lance went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick145 Rnd5 Amare Campbell
They jumped the gun on Amare Campbell, taking him earlier than his grade liked. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick184 Rnd6 Trey Zuhn III
A big swing on Trey Zuhn III at slot 184, well ahead of any board in the building. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick219 Rnd7 Quinten Joyner
Quinten Joyner at the Round 7 slot is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
