The Panthers bled value on every deal, hence the D-.

The trade table was where it all came apart. The Panthers shipped out far more than they hauled back, and no amount of spin dresses up the bill. Put together, it is a D-.

The Smith pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with quarterback still on the board. Reaching for Simpson left real value on the table behind him. They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it.

Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

It is a steep hill from here, and the grade knows it.
