Mondon Jr. should have been long gone. The Panthers pounced, and earned a B-.

Somebody in pick No. 114 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Panthers sat still while Smael Mondon Jr., the No. 42 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.

They are betting White III proves the room right and everyone else wrong. They will regret leaving cornerback for another day if the season turns on it.

The Grant pick reads as want over need, and the roster will feel it at cornerback, quarterback and other spots.
