There is reaching, and then there is Donovan Smith at pick No. 113. The Panthers jumped the board by 100 and dared it to prove them wrong.

Landing Singleton that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend.

The imported veterans give this class a floor the draft picks could not on their own. The hoard sets up next April more than it helps this September.

Bottom line, they did the job about as well as it can be done.
