Draft Grade — Panthers
Overall

FutureB-
The Panthers checked most of the boxes and earned a B. Somebody in the 38th pick was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Panthers sat still while Anthony Hill Jr., the No. 17 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium.
Every board in the league had Tiernan lower, and that gap is the story. The cornerback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Job largely done: wide receiver settled and 4 of 9 of the wish list covered.
The back end got a real overhaul.
Good work on the whole, with cornerback the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick6
Rnd1
Caleb Downs
In slot 6 they get a centerfielder for the defense at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick38
Rnd2
Anthony Hill Jr.
You do not let a linebacker like Anthony Hill Jr. reach pick 38 and blink. They did not. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick70
Rnd3
Caleb Tiernan
Caleb Tiernan in No. 70 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick106
Rnd4
Bryce Lance
A clean, defensible pick in pick No. 106 with a little surplus value in Bryce Lance. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick145
Rnd5
Jaden Greathouse
They will replay Jaden Greathouse at the Round 5 slot for years; that is how good the value is. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick184
Rnd6
Bryce Foster
Value said wait; Bryce Foster in Round 6, Pick 8 says they were not listening. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick219
Rnd7
J.Michael Sturdivant
A conviction pick on J.Michael Sturdivant at the 219th pick that the board grades a round light. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
