You could see the war room lean forward. Jaylin Simpson at the 212th overall pick is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did. No fireworks, but a solid B+.

The linebacker hole is the one line item this class does not answer. It is a bet on later, and a defensible one for a team playing the long game.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes. The weekend tilted hard toward the defense.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
