The board owed the Panthers one, and it paid up: Cody Schrader, the No. 175 name on the board, sitting there at slot 240 like a gift left on the doorstep. More right than wrong, and a B to match.

Reaching for Eichenberg left real value on the table behind him. The safety spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
