A sensible, unshowy class lands the Panthers a B.

The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Panthers reached some 38 spots for Vincent Anthony Jr., and value like that does not grow back. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.

For all the activity, running back went untouched, which is hard to explain. The Williams steal is the beam this whole class leans on.

Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but running back.

In the Round 1 slot they get the heartbeat of the defense. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick48 Rnd2 Arch Manning
Arch Manning at No. 48 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick80 Rnd3 Antonio Williams
Antonio Williams at Round 3, Pick 16 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick116 Rnd4 D'Angelo Ponds
A reasonable price with a little left over, D'Angelo Ponds in slot 116. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.

The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Vincent Anthony Jr.. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
