The Panthers cashed the board's mistake on Cowing: D.

You can lose a draft before you make a pick. The Panthers did it at the trade table, overpaying to chase players the board did not price nearly as high.

They will regret leaving safety for another day if the season turns on it. Reaching for Walker left real value on the table behind him.

That is a wide receiver worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, safety very much included.
