Draft Grade — Panthers
Overall B
ValueC+ NeedB+ TradesB FutureB
The Panthers kept it disciplined and banked a B.

The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Panthers reached some 47 spots for Que Robinson, and value like that does not grow back.

The linebacker spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Monangai.

Small wins on the phones, but wins all the same. Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.

Pick Analysis
Pick14 Rnd1 Mike Green
In Round 1, Pick 14 they get a premier pass rusher, even if it was a touch early. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick45 Rnd2 Trey Amos
Trey Amos at pick 45 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick57 Rnd2 Jayden Higgins
A straight-up fair deal on Jayden Higgins at the 57th overall pick, value and slot in agreement. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick74 Rnd3 Cameron Williams
A tidy little value on Cameron Williams in the Round 3 slot, a step better than break-even. It fills a real need, too.
Pick111 Rnd4 Billy Bowman Jr.
By-the-book stuff, Billy Bowman Jr. at slot 111 squarely in line with his ranking. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick114 Rnd4 Joshua Farmer
No drama and no debate, Joshua Farmer went about where he belonged in pick No. 114. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick140 Rnd5 Que Robinson
They talked themselves into Que Robinson at the 140th pick, and the board did not agree. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick146 Rnd5 Nick Nash
Nick Nash in No. 146 is fair value, right on his grade. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick163 Rnd5 Jaylen Reed
A real head-scratcher, Jaylen Reed in pick 163 is miles ahead of his ranking. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick230 Rnd7 Kyle Monangai
Taking Kyle Monangai in Round 7, Pick 14 is close to grand larceny; a running back that good had no business lasting this long. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
